Born and raised in Florida, Lawyer Ashley Baker graduated from the University of South Florida in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology. In 2015, she pursued her Juris Doctor degree from WMU Thomas M. Cooley Law School and graduated cum laude in 2018.

While at WMU Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Mrs. Baker was very active. She held numerous leadership titles including: Governor and Public Relations Chair with the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division Law Student Division; Florida Association of Women Lawyers, where she served as the Secretary; Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society, where she served on the Rules Committee Chair; and she served as a Grade Appeals Magistrate. In addition to her extensive leadership roles, Mrs. Baker graduated in the top 25% of her class, made Deans List and Honor Roll 2015-2017 consecutively, and was elected by her classmates as the Valedictory speaker at her graduation ceremony.

Prior to and during law school, Mrs. Baker worked at a Plaintiff’s firm for five years handling Personal Injury and Auto Accident cases as well as Criminal Defense. In 2019, Mrs. Baker joined a Civil Litigation Firm as a Trial Attorney representing injured clients for over two years. Mrs. Baker’s experience includes working on, and resolving, numerous personal injury cases on behalf of her clients, as well as working as a Criminal Defense Attorney representing individuals charged with Misdemeanor and Felony offenses with a focus on DUI defense. In 2021, Mrs. Baker joined her Father’s practice at Kovach Law Firm, P.A. as a Partner where she advocates for the wrongfully injured and accused, handling an array of cases, including Personal Injury, Wrongful Death, Civil Litigation, and Criminal and DUI Defense.

Mrs. Baker is licensed to practice in all Florida State Courts. She is also a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Young Lawyer Division, The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division, the Florida Justice Association, Tampa Bay Trial Lawyers’ Association, Citrus County Chamber of Commerce, and Citrus County Bar Association.

In her spare time, Mrs. Baker enjoys spending time with her husband and three dogs, Brewski, Kashton, and Ladi, as well as family and friends.
